Rhine-Waal is moving into the Bergwerk

Change is coming to the Bergwerk West in Kamp-Lintfort: renovation efforts have begun in the landmarked storage building of the historic Kamp-Lintfort colliery. The goal of the renovation is to modernise and convert the rooms for use by Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.

Healthy Seas Initiative

Recycling ocean waste into clothing will be the interesting focus of this semester’s kickoff lecture in Studium Generale on Wednesday, 21 October at 6pm in Building 1, 2nd floor, room 105 on the Kamp-Lintfort Campus (Friedrich-Heinrich-Allee 25, 47475 Kamp-Lintfort). The lecture will be held in English and is free to attend for all.  

Neuer Erstsemester-Wettbewerb zur Informatik

Erstsemester-Studierende aus den Studiengängen „Medien und Kommunikationsinformatik“ und „E-Government“ der Fakultät Kommunikation und Umwelt in Kamp-Lintfort nahmen erneut an einem Wettbewerb zur Berechnung von im Computer gespeicherten Zahlen teil. Dominic Claßen und Rene Heinen konnten sich dabei gegen ihre Kommilitonen und Kommilitoninnen durchsetzen und errangen die ersten Plätze.

Semester start at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences

On 21 September 2015 Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences kicked off its 2015 orientation week with a warm welcome for new students in Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort. The University will start the winter semester 2015/2016 with a projected 6,000 new and returning students.

Summer School: Storytelling, Digital Media and Museums

In Summer School: Storytelling, Digital Media & Museums, 30 young researchers from around the world will gather in a six-day workshop to develop and discuss new digital teaching methods inspired by the artist Joseph Beuys. The workshop will be held from 13 to 19 September in Museum Schloss Moyland.

To help you sort out your waste most efficiently, the ASK as part of Kamp-Lintfort’s municipality has now published a handy and descriptive waste recycling guide in English, German and Turkish. Absolventenverabschiedung 2015 an der Hochschule Rhein-Waal

Die Hochschule Rhein-Waal freut sich über ihre diesjährigen Bachelor- und Masterabsolventen. Im Rahmen einer feierlichen Absolventenverabschiedung mit anschließendem Sektempfang wurden 260 Studierende am 12. Juni 2015 in der Stadthalle Kleve und im Audimax des Campus Kamp-Lintfort mit den besten Wünschen für die Zukunft in das Berufsleben entlassen.

New university president officially in office

As of the 1st of May, 2015, Dr. Heide Naderer is the new president of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. Dr. Naderer was nominated for the post by the University Council in autumn 2014 and confirmed by the University Senate shortly thereafter.

Stiftung des Kreises Wesel „macht Druck“

Die "Stiftung Standort- und Zukunftssicherung Kreis Wesel" unterstützt das zdi-Zentrum (Zukunft durch Innovation) Kamp-Lintfort durch die Anschaffung von 3D-Druckern für Keramik und Schokolade mit 24.000 Euro. Geplant werden auch gemeinsame Informations- und Fortbildungsveranstaltungen zu dieser Zukunftstechnologie.

Agricultural reforms and consequences for the agricultural sector

As part of the Studium Generale lecture series for summer semester 2015, Elisabeth Verhaag, Expert for Nature Conservation in the North Rhine-Westphalian Chamber of Agriculture, will present on the topic ‘New Frameworks in the new Funding Period – Consequences for the Agricultural Sector’ on Tuesday, April 21 at 6:00 pm on the Kamp-Lintfort Campus (Friedrich-Heinrich-Allee 25, Building 01, 2nd floor, room 01 02 105). The talk will be held in German, and is free to attend.

As part of a co-operative effort with the real estate development and management firm RAG Montan Immobilien GmbH, the city of Kamp-Lintfort organised a logo design competition for students of the Information and Communication Design programme at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.
