Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort, May 29, 2015: Gossip – speaking about others behind their backs – can be found throughout social communication contexts. While it may be looked down upon in everyday contexts, gossip is seen in psychological research as an effective way of acquiring valuable social information. This Studium Generale presentation will provide a detailed look at gossip from this scientific perspective.

Studium Generale is a lecture series, held in German, which is open to students and staff of the university as well as the general public. It provides experts with an open forum to discuss important contemporary topics and inform a broad audience of interested parties. “Studium Generale offers students, staff and residents of the region alike the chance to participate in ongoing discussions in the scientific community. It’s also a nice opportunity to see our university from the inside and explore our modern campus facilities”, explains Dr. Heide Naderer, President of Rhine-Waal of Applied Sciences. “We warmly welcome anyone interested in attending the lectures in our current Studium Generale series.”

Studium Generale lectures are free to attend for all visitors. For more information, please refer to: Studium Generale
