Students develop "Art & Cycle" App

Students of the degree programme Media Communication and Computer Science, supported by Prof. Dr Ido Iurgel, have developed an app for cyclers who are interested in art. The app helps to explore the Dutch- German borderland by bike and discover those places that have been inspirations to landscape artist of past centuries.

The project was financed by „Euregio“ and developed in the context of an art exhibition called "Der Himmel so weit" at Museum Schloß Moyland. The app offers on-line navigation to places that have been motifs for 24 of the pictures exhibited. It also provides maps for 4 bicycle tours between Arnhem, Nijmegen und Kleve including stops at places that inspired famous artists like Jan van Goyen or Barend Cornelis Koekkoek. Here viewers can compare the paintings to real landscapes and experience nature through the eyes of an artist.

The exhibition will be on till August 24, 2014
