Orchestra is looking for students to join in

Dear Students,

I am a teacher of Music at the Georg-Forster-Gymnasium and I am addressing you today because I believe that there is a large number of you who would love to make music and play in an orchestra. Developing this thought I had the idea of founding a student orchestra and you are very welcome to join. Public performances and rehearsals will be conducted together with the school orchestra.



The GFG-Orchestra is traditionally a string orchestra, at times being supported by a wind section. The repertoire of the orchestra varies from Baroque through the classical period to contemporary music such as film music. Regular public performances take place at school events such as ‘Abiturfeier’ or at the traditional Christmas carolling in the Christus Kirche.



If you are interested in joining the orchestra please send me a note to let me know what instrument you play. And always keep in mind that you are not expected to be an expert. Having fun playing in the orchestra and being a member of a community where everyone shares your love for music is what really matters.
