Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort, May 4, 2015: As of the 1st of May, 2015, Dr. Heide Naderer is the new president of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. Dr. Naderer was nominated for the post by the University Council in autumn 2014 and confirmed by the University Senate shortly thereafter. She succeeds Prof. Dr. Marie-Louise Klotz, whose tenure as president ended on April 30, 2015.

Dr. Thomas Grünewald, state secretary at the Ministry for Innovation, Science and Research (MIWF), presented Dr. Naderer with the official letter of appointment on April 9, 2015. “I am very much looking forward to assuming my new responsibilities at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences with its two campus locations in Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort. Building upon the work accomplished thus far, I am very excited to be able to use my expertise to contribute to the university’s continued development in the coming years”, said the new president. “One of my central goals is to promote the continued, qualitative oriented internationalisation of the university. The many discussions I’ve had with professors, staff and students over the past weeks have shown me how young and dynamic this university truly is. This commonly shared goal will provide the perfect start for my term in office.”

After nine years as a departmental head at RWTH Aachen University, Dr. Heide Naderer accepted a position as chancellor of the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf in Potsdam, near Berlin, where she remained through December 2014. A native of Kamp-Lintfort, Dr. Naderer studied Political Science and Public Law at the Universität Hamburg, eventually earning her doctorate there. She went on to a successful career in the field of knowledge management for a number of years before assuming the post of deputy director of the North American office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in New York, where she also lectured at the prestigious City University of New York (CUNY).
