Hands-on experiments at the Food Technology Centre

At the Food Technology Centre, interactive experiments await where you can get hands-on. In our gummy bear factory, you can make your own gummy bears in various flavours, colour them with natural dyes and, of course, taste them.

At the Food Technology Centre, under the guidance of Master’s students in Food Science and staff from the department, you’ll gain practical insight into the Master’s programme in Food Science and have the chance to spark your interest in potentially studying in this field. Discover the secrets of food science and be inspired by the wide range of opportunities in this exciting field.

Guided tour of the Tropical House

Experience a fascinating world of exotic plants in our Tropical House! This tropical greenhouse, complete with teaching and display gardens, serves as a scientific laboratory for the Faculty of Life Sciences and is a place of discovery and learning.

Laboratory tour of the Technical Centre with a distillation demonstration

Take this opportunity to look behind the scenes of a real laboratory and learn more about the fascinating processes and techniques, such as the professional still, where many exciting experiments on food safety and process optimisation have already been carried out.

Animal Welfare Goes Digital

Experiencing Animal Welfare – Digital Prototype. Presentation of the research project

Join us as the Faculty of Life Sciences presents the exciting digital prototype of the ‘Experience Animal Welfare’ project! This interactive prototype is designed to teach you about animal welfare in a fun and engaging way. You’ll have the unique opportunity to try out the prototype for yourselves and provide feedback that will be incorporated directly into the project. 

Your opinion is important, as it helps to further improve the prototype and make it even more effective. Your participation and feedback are vital to the success of this project, which will also be presented at Green Week in Berlin.
