Every semester, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences welcomes exchange students from partner universities all over the world. Here, you’ll study in an international environment, take courses in English or German, and gain valuable academic and intercultural experience.

The Centre for Internationalisation and Languages will support you throughout your stay – from the initial orientation right through to the successful completion of your Semester abroad.

How to find us
If you would like to come to Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences as part of an exchange programme (e.g. Erasmus+), you must apply via your home university.
The key steps are:
- Nomination by your home university via email
- Application as an exchange student at HSRW (online portal “MoveOn”)
- Preparing for your stay

Please note that some degree programmes at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences have been re-accredited and are currently in a transitional phase. Depending on the semester, courses may be offered from different versions of the degree programme.

First steps before you arrive
To get off to a good start at HSRW, we recommend that you start looking into the following topics well in advance:

Free-Movers: Studying without an exchange agreement
Studying at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences as part of a semester abroad is usually possible through an exchange programme with a partner university.
At present, we are unable to offer places for so-called ‘free-movers’, i.e. study visits without an existing exchange agreement between the universities.
If you are not coming to Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences via a partner university, you can generally apply to study at HSRW as an international student through the standard application process. In this case, you will go through the normal application process for prospective international students.
