Fair Trade

Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences has been committed to fair trade for many years. Fairtrade Germany has recognised HSRW as a Fairtrade University several times in recognition of its commitment. The University's Fairtrade student group organises workshops, hands-on activities and information events on the topic of Fair Trade.

What we believe in

The Fairtrade student group at both campuses plans, organises and runs Fairtrade events.

Our aim is to promote the idea of fair trade and encourage people to buy things in a way that is fair for everyone. We want to raise awareness of why it's important to trade fairly, as unfortunately this is not always the case – both within the university and amongst the general public.

Fair trade means producers get a fair price, workers are treated well in developing countries, and farming is done in a way that doesn't harm the environment.
