Personalised support in schools: talent scouting

Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences’ talent scouting programme is aimed at motivated upper-sixth form students in the districts of Kleve and Wesel. The aim is to help you identify your strengths, explore suitable career paths and ensure you are well prepared for the transition to university or vocational training.

If, for example, you are the first in your family to consider studying at university, you face particular questions and decisions – and that is exactly where we want to support you. You may also face other challenges, such as difficult financial circumstances or language barriers. Together with you, we will look at your strengths, interests and goals and develop prospects that suit you. Whether you already have a clear idea of what you want to do or are just starting out: we will be there to support you every step of the way.

Talent scouting at a glance

Who is talent scouting for?

The talent scouting programme is aimed at motivated sixth-form students in the districts of Kleve and Wesel. It is particularly aimed at young people from migrant backgrounds or those who would be the first in their family to go to university. If, regardless of this, you face additional challenges or need guidance, we will provide you with personalised and committed support. What matters most is motivation and interest, not your grades!

What does a Talentscout do?

A Talentscout will offer you confidential and free guidance as you make the transition from school to university, vocational training, a year abroad and more – and beyond. They will help you identify your strengths and interests, set realistic goals and plan concrete next steps. Appointments can take place at your school, at the university or online; together, you will keep at it until the transition is a success.

"KAoA - Kein Abschluss ohne Anschluss"

The project “KAoA” is a North Rhine-Westphalia state initiative that supports pupils at an early stage in their transition from school to work or further education. Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is participating in the state initiative and offers a wide range of services to help with choosing a course of study or career.

Offers for school groups

General lecture

In a concise presentation, we provide a general introduction to Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences: course offerings (in German and English), application procedures and deadlines, entry requirements, campus life, and the advice and support services available. Ideal for an initial orientation session with larger groups at school, online or on campus.

The general presentation can be combined with other activities, such as a campus tour.

Workshops

Interactive sessions on university guidance delivered directly in the classroom: we work with you on identifying your strengths, developing decision-making criteria and researching information, answer questions about applications and outline funding options. Practical, varied in approach and tailored to your year group, timetable and needs.

You can find further information on potential workshops on our events page.

Campus tour

Experience a day on the Kleve or Kamp-Lintfort campus: gain an insight into degree programmes, take part in selected lectures, and enjoy campus and laboratory tours!

This offer is aimed at school groups. Unfortunately, we cannot offer individual tours, but you can visit the Study Advisory Service during service hours or visit the campus at either location at any time!
