Congratulations!

Almost 120 graduates from the Faculties of Life Sciences and Technology and Bionics received their certificates during the traditional graduation ceremony.

Prof. Dr William Megill and Prof. Dr Peter Simon presided over the ceremony and welcomed 600 guests – some of whom were unable to find a seat in the packed Audimax but were able to watch a live stream of the event in another room. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Kisters, Vice-President for Research, Transfer and Innovation, congratulated the graduates on behalf of the university’s executive board. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kai Masuch (Faculty of Technology and Bionics) and Prof. Dr Peter Scholz (Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences) encouraged them to stay in touch with their former university.

Following on from this, Lisa Waberg (left) and Shingirai Matsveru from the Alumni Network presented the opportunities and possibilities within the Alumni Network through a light-hearted quiz.

Björn Flockau, a research associate at the Faculty of Life Sciences, gave a science slam on the theme of memories, asked the graduates to take part in the graduate survey, and then shared the graduates’ favourite memories from their time at university.

The professors’ band “Orange Green” provided musical interludes and rounded off the graduation ceremony with their folk-rock songs.
