Excursion to the Baltic States in the study programme Sustainable Tourism, B.A.
Together with 18 students from the degree programmes Sustainable Tourism, B.A. and International Relations, B.A., Prof. Dirk Reiser and Sebastian Amrhein set off for the Baltic States in September 2022. The aim of the 10-day excursion was to observe two upcoming countries in the Baltic region in their tourism development.

Die Studierenden erhielten vertiefende Einblicke in die Transfer Pricing Welt bei Henkel und standen im wechselseitigen Austausch mit den Vortragenden.
Study Orientation Weeks at the Faculty of Society and Economics
Finding the right study programme can be challenging for young people. Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences will help during the Study Orientation Weeks from 16 January to 3 February 2023. The four faculties in Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort, as well as the Central Student Advisory Service, will offer all prospective students a wide range of advice and information on choosing a study programme, study organization, and other topics.
Arbeitsmigration zwischen den Grenzen: Hochschule stellt Studienergebnisse vor
Mit der Corona-Pandemie wurde offensichtlich, in welchem Ausmaß Arbeitskräfte aus osteuropäischen EU-Staaten vor allem in der Land- und Fleischwirtschaft rekrutiert werden und welchen prekären Arbeits- und Lebensbedingungen diese Arbeitsmigrantinnen und - migranten häufig ausgesetzt sind. In einer Studie der Hochschule Rhein-Waal wurden dazu Medienberichte ausgewertet und Interviews mit Expertinnen und Experten geführt. Die Ergebnisse wurden in einem Abschlussworkshop am 9. Office of the Dean of the Faculty of Society and Economics confirmed for another 4 years
The Dean and Vice-Deans of the Faculty of Society and Economics are elected for four years from among the members of the Faculty Council, consisting of representatives of all status groups and students. The elections for the term of office starting in March 2023 took place at the last Faculty Council meetings. All previous office holders were confirmed in office through re-election.
Prof. Dr. Hans-Michael Wolffgang, director of the institute of customs and international trade law and professor at the faculty for law at WWU Münster, held a guest lecture on customs duties law.
Students from the Creative Writing Workshop at the Faculty of Society and Economics explored the Tropical Greenhouse with Study and Showpiece Gardens with pen and paper
In the Creative Writing Workshop, an extra-curricular event led by lecturer Renate Schmitz-Gebel, students from the Faculty of Society and Economics meet once a month. They go on excursions to different places in the region and write there for a whole day. In doing so, they easily overcome their inhibitions in front of a blank page and discover their joy in writing. The October excursion took the students only a few hundred metres across the Spoy Canal and yet into a completely different world.
Visit to the office of the Working Group for Peace and Conflict Research
As part of the module "Peace and Security Studies", a group of students from the International Relations Bachelor's programme led by Prof. Dr Jakob Lempp visited the office of the German Association for Peace and Conflict Studies (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Friedens- und Konfliktforschung e.V. – AFK) in Kleve.
4th Nairobi-Kleve Model African Union on Climate Change
Referring to the COP27, the fourth Nairobi-Kleve Model African Union (NKMAU) from November 7-11, 2022 was dedicated to the topic of climate change. The conference was organized by four students under the direction of Katja Flockau, funded by the ASA program from Engagement Global in cooperation with the Riara University in Nairobi, Kenya.
Alumni in the Gender and Diversity degree programme talk about career opportunities and learning outcomes
In the alumnight in the Bachelor's degree programme Gender and Diversity, students get a concrete insight into career opportunities after graduation. In a cosy pre-Christmas atmosphere, three alumni in the Gender and Diversity degree programme gave insightful impressions on how they turned their gained knowledge during their studies into perspectives of work and even practical life lessons, opening up new ideas and fresh outlooks to potential work areas for our students.
Students of both degree programmes in International Business and Management, B.A. as well as International Taxation and Law, B.A. had the chance to get deep insights into the world of cars. This student-trip was not just aiming at getting more input of the car industry. After several years without any excursion and most-likely online-lectures the group was able to get to know each other in a more personal athmosphere. They developed their soft-skills and learned the importance of networking – with fellow students and business partners.

Die Hochschule Rhein-Waal ist wieder mit einem spannenden Programm dabei.
Der nächste bundesweite Berufsorientierungstag für Mädchen und Jungen findet am 27. April 2023 statt. Dabei geht es für die Schülerinnen und Schüle vor allem darum, ihre gewohnte Perspektive zu verändern und sich auf Unbekanntes einzulassen. Ziel des Zukunftstages ist es, Mädchen und Jungen ab der 8. Klasse für neue Themenfelder, Ausbildungsberufe, Hochschulen und Forschungszentren zu begeistern.
