The library of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is a learning place open to the public and can be used free of charge without registration. If you would like to borrow books or other items, you can apply for a free library card. In this way, we aim to make the library accessible to everyone, regardless of their social background.
The library of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences positions itself as an inclusive and safe place of learning – for everyone. This is already evident from the large welcome sign at the entrance to the library in Kleve. By displaying the Inter* Inclusive Pride Flag, we aim to contribute to a positive learning atmosphere and a sense of safety for all students in the library.
If you experience any hostility in the library, please contact our library or security staff on site directly. We are here to help you! In our study areas, you will find information on how to seek immediate help should you be at risk.
The library offers screen readers for people with visual impairments at both locations. The ‘Merlin Elite Pro’ screen readers feature a magnification and text-to-speech function for both printed materials and digital content.
If you are interested in using this service, please email bibliothek(at)hochschule-rhein-waal.de to book an appointment. A mobile station equipped with a screen reader, a laptop and headphones will then be made available to you in a quiet room. If you wish to use books from the library, we will be happy to provide these on request as well. If this is your first time using the equipment, we will be happy to give you a brief introduction.
