The "Weeks of Study Orientation" from January 22 -29, 2026 allow you to explore various topics related to choosing your degree programme. It’s a great chance to get answers to questions about selecting a programme, funding your studies, the application process, and admission requirements.

Shaping the Future: Strengthening Collaborations for 2026


How can we strengthen collaborations in a more targeted way? Where can we simplify processes and make them more efficient? And what goals can we set today for a successful 2026? The “Ready to Match?” workshop at the Faculty of Communication and Environment provided a space to ask the right questions – and find answers together with an eye on the future.

Design students win Gold and Bronze at the DDC AWARD 2025

Amal Hamed and Valeriia Kapustina, students in the Information and Communication Design programme, are among the winners of the prestigious DDC AWARD 2025. They were recognised for projects that combine social relevance, strong conceptual thinking and outstanding design quality. One of the most important design awards in the German-speaking world, the DDC AWARD honours work that brings together creative excellence and a sense of responsibility towards the environment, culture and society.

Data Detectives at Work

At this year’s first-year competition hosted by the Faculty of Communication and Environment, new Informatics students demonstrated just how confidently they can handle complex data analysis. Instead of cracking a code as in the previous year, participants were challenged to unravel a fictional police case using an extensive open-data set from the city of Moers. Here are the winners.
