The network of female students at the Faculty of Technology and Bionics is growing: just in time for the start of the semester, the MINT Girls met for what is now the third round of their programme. Through regular meetings, these budding engineers and scientists have the opportunity to get to know one another better, take part in excursions and events, and thus find it easier to settle into their studies.
The programme, which was launched in 2018 by the decentralised equality officer Dr Alina Leson and student Phyllis Ndugire, also includes workshops on topics such as work placements, lectures, funding opportunities and work-life balance. Alumni, female professors and working women act as mentors to highlight career prospects for young women.
This year, the project is receiving financial support from the Förderverein Campus Cleve e.V.
