On 5 October 2017, this year’s induction week at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences for the 2017/2018 winter semester will culminate in two parallel events at both of the university’s campuses.
As part of the induction week for the forthcoming 2017/2018 winter semester, a wide range of activities, events and information stands will be on offer for new students at both campuses of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences. On 5 October 2017, alongside the ‘Homecoming Cup’ – an interdisciplinary relay race between the faculties – the ‘Bazaar’ will also take place in Kleve, featuring a range of activities, stands run by internal and external organisations, and a programme of events for first-year students at the Kamp-Lintfort campus. Residents of both towns are also warmly invited to come and get a taste of university life on the day, cheer on the Cup participants and mingle with the crowds at both campuses.
This year’s Homecoming Cup will take place on 5 October from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm at the Kleve campus. The teams, each consisting of five people, must complete a relay race across various disciplines, including canoeing on the Spoy Canal, an obstacle course, a bicycle slalom and a surf-skate course. The highlight of the sporting competition – which is being held at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences for the third time – is undoubtedly the joint climb up the four-metre-high wall, which requires exceptional teamwork from all participants. At the same time, the Bazaar will get underway on the Kamp-Lintfort campus: from 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm, there will be numerous information stands run by internal and external organisations on the university grounds. New students will have the opportunity to get to know one another in a relaxed atmosphere and to ask any questions they may have about starting their studies. There will also be a short programme of entertainment on stage. Afterwards, the traditional ‘barbecue’ with live music will take place for all first-year students.
