Study Orientation Weeks at the Faculty of Technology and Bionics

As part of the University Open Days, the Faculty of Technology and Bionics will be presenting its range of degree programmes in the field of Biomaterials Science on 18 January from 2.00 pm. A range of guided tours will provide an overview of the degree programme; those interested can also make seed packets from biodegradable film, take a look inside the synthesis laboratory and the spectroscopy laboratory, try out various instruments for materials testing, and look through the 3D light microscope.

Discover our Bachelor’s degree programme in Biomaterials Science! At 3 pm and 4 pm, there will be a guided tour of the laboratories, during which the programme director, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Raimund Sicking, will provide information about the course content. The meeting point for the tour is the Technology Hall in Building 7.

Those interested can also make seed packets from biodegradable film, take a look inside the synthesis laboratory and the spectroscopy laboratory, try out various instruments for materials testing, and look through the 3D light microscope. There will also be an opportunity to chat with the programme’s professors and staff.

Programme

2.00 pm Biodegradable plastic film – how does it work?

Guided tour of the Faculty’s Plastics Technology Centre.

The meeting point is in the entrance hall of Building 6

2.00–3.30 pm: Insight and perspective

Take a look through the scanning electron microscope and the 3D optical microscope and find out how materials scientists use these instruments.

Building 5, 3rd floor, Room 003

3.00 pm, 4.00 pm Materials Engineering, Spectroscopy and Synthesis

Guided tour of the laboratories and information about the degree programme.

Meeting point: Building 7 for both tours
