Important information regarding the start of the 2020/21 winter term

1. If you do not have access to your university email account – and therefore also not to Moodle and similar platforms – please check at our virtual service point to see whether you are already fully enrolled. Sometimes certain documents are still missing, or you may have provided the wrong address. The virtual student service point, run by the student advisory service, is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12 to 3 here.

2. You can find all timetables published here.

3. On Moodle, you will not only find information and documents about your online classes in the course section, but also an overview of the most relevant information here.

4. Some Moodle courses are password-protected. How do you find them? Have a look here. Please click on ‘Enrolment in courses’ and follow the instructions.

5. If you do not yet have access to Moodle, get in touch with your fellow students. For most degree programmes, the freshers’ groups have WhatsApp groups. Please contact our student council (Fachschaft) for more information on Facebook or Instagram. They also have a Moodle group.

6. At present, lecturers and university staff are receiving a large number of individual enquiries, not all of which can be answered promptly. Therefore, please try to sort out as many questions as possible amongst yourselves. If you have any difficulties accessing the platform or unanswered questions about your courses, it is best to get in touch with your fellow students and contact the lecturer together. Once you receive a response, share the information with your fellow students.

7. Prepare for your courses. You will find all the information on the content of your modules in the module catalogue for your degree programme. This is available in the downloads section on your degree programme’s website. Click here for an overview of the programme websites.

8. Familiarise yourself with the technical requirements. You can find an overview of the IT services here. You do not need an account to take part in Webex meetings, training sessions and events.

9. Be prepared for your classes. You can find some useful ideas and tips on how to make the most of the online term here.
