Nearly 80 graduates celebrated last week at the joint graduation ceremony organised by the Faculties of Technology and Bionics and Life Sciences.

Prof. Dr Peter Simon (left) and Prof. Dr William Megill hosted the evening, reminding the graduates of their time at university during the pandemic, of the long journeys to Kleve, but also of the many wonderful moments, from Freshers’ Weeks right through to passing their final exams.
Vice-President Prof. Dr Tatiana Zimenkova and the deans of the two faculties, Prof. Dr Peter Scholz and Prof. Dr-Ing Dirk Nissing, encouraged the former students to embark on this new chapter of their lives with courage, whilst also urging them not to lose touch with the university.
The alumni quiz organised by alumni liaison officer Lisa Waberg had the audience of around 400 people in the packed Audimax on their feet as they answered various questions about the HSRW alumni network.
Björn Flockau, a research assistant at the Faculty of Life Sciences, reminded the graduates in a humorous ‘science slam’ to take part in the graduation survey and then shared personal memories that the graduates had provided.
The music was provided this time not only by Orange Green, the professors’ band from both faculties, but also by two graduates playing the violin and viola.
