In the first lecture of this year’s Children’s University, the HALL OF FAME cinema in Kamp-Lintfort is giving young students a glimpse behind the scenes.

In February, the moment finally arrived – the HALL OF FAME cinema in Kamp-Lintfort opened its doors. As well as seven screening theatres, the HALL OF FAME boasts state-of-the-art technology. At the Children’s University, the operators, Anja and Meinolf Thies, explain how it all works.

At the invitation of Stadtwerke Kamp-Lintfort, the children will experience, in the cinema’s largest auditorium, just what is possible with ‘D-BOX Motion Seats’, see crystal-clear images thanks to laser technology, and hear sound coming from all directions – even from above – with DOLBY ATMOS. Additional speakers in the ceiling provide a 360° audio experience. The operators will also offer a glimpse behind the scenes of the cinema. In the projection room, the children will learn how the film is projected onto the screen.

The event will take place on 27 March 2019 from 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm at the HALL OF FAME cinema, Ringstraße 140, 47475 Kamp-Lintfort (www.hall-of-fame.website).

Admission is free. As seating is limited, you must register by emailing presse@swkl.de, stating the number of children taking part. Once your registration has been confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email.

The Children’s University

Through the Children’s University, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences offers children aged between eight and twelve the opportunity to develop a passion for the world of science through lectures (45 minutes) designed especially for them. Just like proper students, they are given student ID cards. They sit in lecture theatres and can ask the experts as many questions as they like. The main difference from a real degree course is that there are no exams to sit.
