Ukraine support

In line with its mission statement, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences will remain an open and non-discriminatory institution. It promotes international academic discourse as well as value-based and cultural exchange. Through this openness to the world, it contributes to mutual understanding between cultures in an interconnected world. Particularly in these challenging times, the university is strongly committed to the fundamental values of peace, freedom and democracy. The immediate priority is now to prepare for the admission of Ukrainian students and researchers and to develop support services.

In response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences has suspended all cooperation with Russian institutions. Individual relationships will, however, be maintained. Students and researchers from Russia who make a conscious decision to study or undertake a research stay at HSRW may still be admitted.

On these webpages, we are continuously compiling a list of useful links to support services offered by Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences for prospective students affected by the war in Ukraine and elsewhere.

For students and researchers from Ukraine, we also recommend the National Academic Contact Point Ukraine as a source of guidance. The website is available in Ukrainian, English and German. In addition to information on the German higher education and research system, it offers a regularly updated list of links to support services in the academic sector.
