As part of the ongoing internationalisation and quality development of the International Business and Management (BA) degree programme, Philipp Schorn and Fabian Dargel visited the Universidad Católica de Valencia in Spain. The aim of the visit was to review and adapt the existing double degree agreement in light of the recently completed accreditation process and the structural reorganisation of the degree programme.
The changes to the IBM degree programme – in particular the future compulsory semester abroad in the fifth semester, as well as the associated changes to the curriculum and organisation (including the removal of some modules and the introduction of new ones) – necessitate a comprehensive update of the contractual agreements. Through intensive and highly constructive discussions with our colleagues on site, an excellent working basis was established, which will now be further developed by bilateral working groups over the coming weeks.
Another highlight of the visit was the face-to-face meeting with the first IBM student currently at HSRW, who is at present completing a semester of study abroad in Valencia as part of the double degree programme. This direct exchange provided valuable insights into experiences on the ground and offered practical ideas for the further development of the programme.
This visit once again highlights the importance of international cooperation for quality assurance and the further development of our degree programmes, and represents a further step towards a forward-looking, practice-oriented and globally focused degree programme at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences.
