Die Fakultät Gesellschaft und Ökonomie der Hochschule Rhein-Waal freut sich über die Übernahme der ersten eigenen Auszubildenden. Am 1. März begann die ehemalige Auszubildende der Fakultät Gesellschaft und Ökonomie, Jessica Strobel, ihre neue Arbeitsstelle als Dekanatssekretärin.

Rhine-Waal University’s Kids’ Uni programme is gearing up a new semester of fun programmes for children. On April 22, 2015, the first kid-friendly lecture in the summer semester 2015 programme will be held in Kleve. Professor Dr. Marion Halfmann, Dean of the Faculty of Society and Economics and Professor of Business Administration with an emphasis on Marketing and Market-oriented Management, will teach children about marketing and advertisement in a fun, interactive and understandable way. As always, Kids’ Uni lectures are free!

On Wednesday 15th April over 300 members of the public and students of the Rhine-Waal University gathered to attend United Nations day. The event, which was hosted by the AStA International Department, was designed to engage students in discussions about issues related to the UN as well as creating an event that supports the relationship between the citizens of Kleve and students.

U.S. Consul General Stephen A. Hubler was warmly welcomed by our Dean Prof. Halfmann in the Audimax, Campus Kleve on Wednesday morning. The Consul General came to Kleve to talk to 130 students of International Relations about the most important steps in his diplomatic career. Later he exchanged views on topics like family life of a diplomat, job opportunities for women and current political issues such as TTIP and Edward Snowden.

Im Rahmen eines Besuchs an der Hochschule Rhein-Waal wird US-Generalkonsul Stephen A. Hubler aus Düsseldorf über das Thema „The Art of Diplomacy and the Importance of Intercultural Awareness” referieren. Der Vortag steht im Kontext zu der Vorlesung „International Affairs“ im Studiengang International Relations von Prof. Dr. Jakob Lempp, Professor für Politologie mit dem Schwerpunkt Internationale Beziehungen an der Fakultät Gesellschaft und Ökonomie.

The central theme of this year’s Mittwochsakademie lecture series will be gender equality, with a particular focus on gender policy and research. Sylvia Löhrmann, Minister of Schools and Futher Education for the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, will officially launch the series with a talk on April 15, 2015 at 6:00 pm on the Kleve Campus.

Das International Team unter der Leitung von Prof. van der Beek bietet ab sofort wieder wöchentlich Sprechstunden für die Studierenden der Fakultät Gesellschaft und Ökonomie bei Fragen zum Auslandssemester an.

Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is once again opening its door to pupils and future students with its Sneak Study programme. Between March 30 and April 10, 2015, pupils can get a ‘sneak peek’ of our lectures and seminars in Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort and learn a bit about what it’s like to study at a university of applied sciences.

New leadership in the Faculty of Society and Economics: Professor Dr Marion Halfmann has assumed the post of Dean, Professor Dr Thomas Pitz the post of Vice-Dean, and Professor Dr Jakob Lempp the post of Vice-Dean of Studies.

Studierende des Bachelorstudiengangs „Alternativer Tourismus” der Fakultät Gesellschaft und Ökonomie der Hochschule Rhein-Waal bearbeiteten im Rahmen der Praxiswerkstatt im dritten Semester praktische Fragestellungen für niederrheinische Projektpartner.
