The VDI Lower Rhine Regional Association has once again awarded the VDI University Prize this year. The prize recognises outstanding achievements by students from the engineering faculties of the three universities – Düsseldorf, Lower Rhine and Rhein-Waal – and comes with a cash prize of €500.
The following students from the Faculty of Technology and Bionics at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences were delighted to receive the award: Phyllis Ndugire won in the ‘social engagement’ category for the STEM Summer School she had initiated. Florian Roesner came out on top in the internal competition in the ‘Bachelor’s/Master’s Thesis’ category with his Master’s thesis on the topic “Tactile-based octopod robot with leg ejection capability to survive rough terrain environments”, whilst Nivruth Nitin Gadamsetty impressed the jury in the ‘Project Work’ category with his project “Development of an electronic differential for an e-trike with articulated-frame steering”. The judging panel comprises professors from the three universities and VDI members.
