A wide range of events for prospective students

Choosing a degree course and a career is an exciting process and, at the same time, a major challenge. To tackle this with confidence, it is worth making use of the various guidance and decision-making services available at an early stage. Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences also offers prospective students a wide-ranging programme of study guidance from October to November.

At present, an increasing number of prospective students, A-level graduates and upper secondary school pupils are finding out about study opportunities at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. To meet this growing demand and to give working prospective students and pupils travelling from further afield the opportunity to book a counselling appointment, the Central Student Advisory Service at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is now offering extended opening hours on the first Monday of every month (alternating between the Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort campuses): from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm, prospective students can ask questions and receive guidance through the decision-making process. The next extended opening hours at the Central Student Advisory Service will take place on Monday, 2 October 2017, at the Kamp-Lintfort campus. Anyone interested is warmly invited to drop by or to book an appointment directly on 02821 80673-360.

In addition, the Central Student Advisory Service is offering a study orientation workshop at both campuses for all school pupils who are still in the early stages of their decision-making process. The event enables participants to explore their own decision-making process in a small group and to learn some basic strategies for researching information. The workshop also provides guidance on evaluating information, offers a platform for exchanging ideas with like-minded peers, and sets out criteria that should be taken into account when choosing a degree programme.

Dates:

6 October 2017 from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm at the Kamp-Lintfort

campus 14 October 2017 from 10.00 am to 2.30 pm at the Kleve campus

The workshop is aimed at secondary school pupils in the upper years and is free to attend. Please register at studienorientierung@hochschule-rhein-waal.de.

Prospective students who are already further along in their decision-making process or who are interested in a specific degree programme at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences are invited to take part in the taster course, to discover campus life and to try out a degree programme of their choice. The next taster programme will take place during the autumn holidays from 23 October to 3 November 2017 at both university campuses. Pupils can now add their names to the list of interested parties without obligation at schnupperstudium@hochschule-rhein-waal.de. As soon as the programme is finalised, a notification will be sent by email, after which all those interested can register for their chosen courses.
