Under the slogan ‘11 Days for Talent in the Ruhr Region’, 115 initiatives, schools, universities, businesses, chambers of commerce, associations and local authorities will take part in an unprecedented showcase across 26 towns and cities, highlighting where talent can be found and how to successfully nurture the next generation.
A wealth of information for school pupils, students, parents, teachers and trainers, alongside open classrooms, lecture theatres and workshops, as well as numerous hands-on activities: At the TalentTage Ruhr 2017, running from 3 to 13 October, an entire region will be showcasing what it has to offer in terms of education. Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences is also taking part in this year’s regional exhibition with two events. “As a university, nurturing talent and educating young people is particularly close to our hearts. I am therefore delighted that, as part of the TalentTage Ruhr, we can demonstrate how we support young talent on our Kamp-Lintfort campus,” says Dr Heide Naderer, President of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences.
On 5 October 2017, the FabLab will open its doors from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm at the Kamp-Lintfort campus (Friedrich-Heinrich-Allee 25, 47475 Kamp-Lintfort). At this open day in the high-tech workshop, anyone interested can familiarise themselves with modern manufacturing technology through ‘learning by doing’. From building and programming electronic control systems, to milling and cutting parts from solid materials, right through to
3D printing of customised workpieces – almost everything currently possible in the field of digital manufacturing is on offer. Spanning over
600 square metres, the FabLab Kamp-Lintfort at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences offers not only the space but also the necessary machinery to bring your own ideas to life. Anyone interested is warmly invited to the Open FabLab; no registration is required.
The Central Student Advisory Service at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is hosting the workshop ‘Discovering Talents – Making Decisions’ on 6 October 2017 from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm at the Kamp-Lintfort campus. The event is aimed at prospective students, A-level graduates and upper-secondary school pupils, and offers guidance on making decisions about life after school. The workshop helps those who are undecided by supporting them through the decision-making process, provides useful tips for the transition to university or working life, assists participants in identifying their own talents and strengths, and highlights, amongst other things, the criteria that are important when choosing a degree programme. The event also gives anyone interested the opportunity to ask any questions they may have about everyday life as a student. Please register at studienorientierung@hochschule-rhein-waal.de.
The TalentTage Ruhr are organised by TalentMetropole Ruhr (TMR), the flagship education project of the Initiativkreis Ruhr. This eleven-day marathon of events in the Ruhr region provides a platform for all stakeholders and serves to inspire the next generation. “As a showcase for education that is unrivalled across Germany, the TalentTage Ruhr are bringing together more and more cities, events and partners under one roof.
