Practical yet environmentally friendly business cards – this was the idea explored by Victor Mwandila, Dhyan Jayawardhana and Piyush Kothari, who went on to present the Eco-friendly Programmed Business Card at the ‘Best Idea Cup 2019’.
Providing a better overview and reducing paper waste – that is the promise of this eco-friendly business card, made from recyclable marine litter. The business card has two functions: firstly, it serves as an online platform through which business contacts can be accessed and organised at the same time; secondly, with the appropriate programming, it can be used to exchange contact details electronically.
To share their contact details, the cardholder simply holds their card up to the recipient’s smartphone. Information such as contact details, a portfolio, photos or demos is then automatically scanned and transferred. No app is required to transfer the data; the ‘Eco-friendly Programmed Business Card’ is all that is needed.
The three students have made a demo version of their business idea available via the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hm-gM9V2YGs&feature;=youtu.be
