Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day 2017 at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences

As in previous years, Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences took part in the nationwide Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day initiative in April 2017, offering girls an insight into technical and scientific subjects and organising activities for boys to explore careers ‘not typically associated with boys’.

The annual ‘Girls’ Day’ and ‘Boys’ Day’ events are designed to open up new avenues for career choices. This initiative encourages young people to reflect on gender roles and provides insights into the world of work through workshops and activities.

This year, Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences organised a total of 10 events at its Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort campuses. A total of 75 boys and girls took part in experiments, treasure hunts and hands-on activities. Campus tours also provided an opportunity to get to know the university better.

The university will once again be taking part in the initiative next year. The date has already been set for 26 April 2018. A detailed programme of events will be announced in early 2018 on the following page: www.hochschule-rhein-waal.de/de/veranstaltungen/girls-day-und-boys-day
