Professor Dr Amir Fahmi is a professor of materials science at the Faculty of Technology and Bionics at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences in Kleve. He will give a talk on the topic “Nanotechnology – a little goes a long way – prospects for the 21st century”.
Nanotechnology is a new technology for the next generation of miniaturised devices. These are based on structures, materials and functionalised surfaces at the nanoscale. The lecture will present various concepts in nanoscience for numerous applications, including in the fields of renewable energy, nanomedicine, biotechnology and nanoelectronics. It will examine the economic implications and environmental factors, as well as highlighting the prospects for the technology’s broad range of applications.

He will give a talk on the topic “Towards vertical farming with digital manufacturing”.
