Freshers’ Week is going virtual!

The programme for the 2020 Virtual Freshers’ Week has been published on the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences website. New students can now find out which events are scheduled for the induction week – which will be held primarily online – as well as when and where they will take place. The programme is subject to change due to the constantly evolving situation.

“This year, of course, everything is different because of the pandemic – in previous years, Freshers’ Week was characterised, amongst other things, by a buzz of activity on campus and in the towns. Although we have planned a few in-person events, we will, of course, be offering mainly online events so that we can support the new students as best we can despite the current circumstances,” said Nele Decker, a member of this year’s Freshers’ Week organising team.

Participants can look forward to a varied programme of helpful information sessions on starting university, campus tours, university sports events, virtual versions of traditional Freshers’ Week events such as the Freshers’ Markets, and much more. Based on experience from previous years, it is advisable to make the most of Freshers’ Week to ease the transition into university life. The Freshers’ Week 2020 organising team is looking forward to a lively turnout from the freshers.
