In the 2020/21 winter semester, the Studium Generale at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences is offering courses on a variety of topics in digital format for the first time. The topic of the next session is ‘Communication, neuroscience and mindfulness – the foundations for successful relationships, both personal and professional’.
“What we say and what the other person actually hears can sometimes be worlds apart. This may be due to unconscious emotions on one side, or even on both sides, as well as differing life experiences or values. This makes it difficult to be understood correctly in everyday life, or to understand others correctly.”
This talk by Johanna Hachmann, a personality and communication coach, explores interpersonal processes and self-reflection, and offers initial insights into the interplay of communication processes. “These enable us to build successful relationships and resolve misunderstandings more quickly and calmly – whether in our private or professional lives,” explains Hachmann.
The event will take place on Wednesday 2 December at 6.00 pm via Webex Events.
The talk is part of the Studium Generale programme, which was designed to make academic research accessible through lectures that are easy for everyone to understand. The lecture programme is aimed at the general public, students, school pupils and those interested in science in the region, as well as lecturers and staff at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, with a focus on general, universal education. The lecture series also provides a platform for lively discussion on current issues.
Attendance at the Studium Generale lectures at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is free of charge and no prior registration is required.
