Prof. Dr Timo Kahl and Prof. Dr Frank Zimmer, programme directors of the E-Government and Media and Communication Informatics programmes, organised, in collaboration with the Lower Rhine Municipal Data Centre (KRZN), IT.NRW, Computacenter AG & Co. oHG and CHG Meridian AG, organised a varied and informative day featuring numerous engaging discussions and presentations by distinguished guests from the worlds of politics and business. The event showcased and discussed approaches and projects, as well as critical aspects and challenges relating to the digitalisation of administrative processes. The programme was moderated by Gregor Franzmann (Ministry of Health, Emancipation, Care and Ageing of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia).

At numerous information stands around the Audimax, practical advice was provided on the topic of ‘Career opportunities for e-government graduates’. Here, companies and local authorities presented themselves in an effort to attract students from the university.

A presentation of current student projects accompanied the event.

“The event was once again very well attended this year and highly informative for everyone involved. We are particularly proud that companies and public authorities are now approaching us specifically to enquire about qualified graduates,” said Prof. Dr Timo Kahl.
