Wind helps to charge mobile phones

Thanks to the project and a 600-W conventional wind turbine on the roof of Building 5, students and staff can charge their mobile phones on campus. The wind energy generated is stored in a battery bank on the ground floor and is connected to a smartphone charging station in the entrance hall of Building 5. This charging station is available free of charge to all HSRW students and staff. The project is led by Prof. Dr-Ing. Joachim Gebel (right) and carried out by Md Sawkat Hossain, M.Sc. (left).
