Diversity Audit: ‘Shaping Diversity’

The ‘Shaping Diversity’ diversity audit is an initiative of the Stifterverband for Education, Science and Innovation. Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences has also applied to take part in the diversity audit.

Kleve/Kamp-Lintfort, 9 June 2016: In May 2016, Prof. Dr Georg Hauck, Vice-President for Human Resources, Organisational Development and Diversity at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, welcomed the auditor, Ms Karoline Spelsberg-Papazoglou, to mark the start of the internal audit. Together with committed lecturers and staff, the activities undertaken to date on the topic of ‘diversity’ at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences were reviewed and discussed on the Kleve campus. ‘The aim of the audit is to develop and document a joint strategy on the topic of “diversity”. The projects, measures and initiatives currently in place at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences that address aspects of diversity are to be consolidated, linked together and made more widely known,’ explains Prof. Dr Georg Hauck.

The ‘Shaping Diversity’ audit is an initiative of the Stifterverband for Education, Science and Innovation. The audit aims to encourage universities to embrace the challenges associated with an increasingly diverse student population and to highlight ways in which a specific diversity strategy can be developed in line with each university’s profile. Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences has also set itself the goal of addressing the unifying aspects of diversity. As a first step, the creation of a diversity concept for Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences will lay the foundations for establishing a diversity-sensitive organisation with a corresponding organisational culture. A catalogue of measures for the university is due to be finalised by the end of 2017.
