An information session on the ‘Locals4Students’ mentoring programme will take place on 18 December 2018 at the Kamp-Lintfort campus. In the past, many local residents have already played an active role, helping to make it easier for numerous students to settle into their studies.
We are once again looking for mentors or ‘locals’ (as they are known in English) who would like to help students feel at home in their new surroundings. Students from abroad, in particular, look forward to this form of support, as language is often not the only challenge they face. Cultural differences can also pose a challenge for them. It is entirely up to the mentors to decide what they can and wish to offer in their role as advisers. The aim of the programme is to foster a friendly exchange and mutual enrichment. Both the students and the university are grateful for any kind of support.
To give everyone the chance to get to know one another and exchange ideas, an information session will take place on
18 December 2018 from 5.30 pm in the canteen (Building 4) on the Kamp-Lintfort campus of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, Friedrich-Heinrich-Allee 25. Admission is free. Please register by emailing locals4students@hochschule-rhein-waal.de. Refreshments will, of course, be provided.
