As is traditional, the Friends of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences – Cleve Campus e.V. once again hosted the Weckmann dinner this year.
In keeping with tradition, the Friends of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences – Cleve Campus e.V. once again invited guests to the Weckmann feast at the Cleve Campus this year. Numerous hungry guests – including members of the Friends’ Association as well as students, staff and friends of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences – had come to marvel at what is probably the largest Weckmann in the Lower Rhine region and to enjoy it together. Professor Dr Eberhard Menzel, Acting President of Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, and the Chair of the Friends’ Association, Peter Wack, officially opened the banquet by cutting into the three-metre-tall, freshly baked Weckmann.
The culinary gathering was accompanied by music from the university’s music ensemble. At the same time, the ‘Holiday Shindig’, organised by the Kleve Student Union (AStA) in collaboration with the student representative councils, took place, featuring various activities – such as a gingerbread house competition, a Secret Santa and marshmallow roasting. Once again this year, the pre-Christmas gathering brought together people of many generations and nationalities to enjoy the festivities together. Over mulled wine and hot chocolate, the cheerful get-together continued well into the evening.
