The summer holidays are just around the corner, and with them comes the MINT Girls’ Summer School for schoolgirls aged 16 and over. The five-day adventure camp at the Faculty of Technology and Bionics aims to inspire more women to take an interest in science-related subjects and degree courses.
Lecturers and staff not only offer insights into STEM subjects and future career opportunities, but also demonstrate that STEM subjects are by no means dry or boring. Seminars specially tailored to the schoolgirls are offered on the topics of robotics, 3D printing, mathematics, electronics, bionics and thermodynamics. The Summer School is complemented by a sports programme and group visits to the canteen. Female students from the faculty, who act as tutors to support the schoolgirls, share stories from their own student lives and are on hand to answer any questions.
The STEM Summer School will take place from 19 to 23 August 2019, from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm each day, at the Kleve campus of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, in the Faculty of Technology and Bionics.
Participation in the event is free of charge. Registrations can be sent to marketing-tub@hochschule-rhein-waal.de by 1 August 2019. The programme will be available from the beginning of August 2019.
