New lectures open to guest students


Interested members of the public once again have the opportunity to attend regular lectures as guests during the 2016 summer term at the Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort campuses.

Once again, Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences is offering all members of the public in Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort who are interested the opportunity to attend regular lectures as guest students during the 2016 summer semester.

In addition to fascinating talks as part of the Studium Generale programme, lectures can once again be attended as guest students this semester. This is aimed at those interested in furthering their education in a specific subject area. Lectures are offered in German or English across the various degree programmes of the three faculties at the Kleve campus and the Faculty of Communication and Environment at the Kamp-Lintfort campus.

The lectures at the Faculty of Technology and Bionics on the Kleve campus primarily cover technical topics such as ‘Thermodynamics’, ‘Applied Physics’, ‘Technical Design’ or ‘Vehicle Technology’. The Faculty of Life Sciences, for example, covers subjects such as ‘Biotechnology’, ‘Hygiene and Cleaning Processes’, ‘Biology and Biodiversity’ and ‘Applied Microbiology’. The Faculty of Society and Economics offers lectures on topics such as ‘Policy Advice’, ‘Regional Integration’, ‘Alternative Regional Marketing’ and ‘Basics of International Taxation’, as well as ‘New Models and Theories of Society’.

At the Faculty of Communication and Environment on the Kamp-Lintfort campus, the following lectures, amongst others, are available: ‘Innovative Approaches in Software Development’, ‘General Psychology’, ‘IT Security’, ‘Usability Engineering’ and ‘Toxicology and Environmental Health’.

Those interested can register as guest students at the Student Service Centre of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences and purchase a guest student card for 100 euros to attend the open lectures during the 2016 summer semester. A listener’s pass entitles the holder to attend the relevant lecture regularly from April 2016 to July 2016. The application form to be completed and the full list of open lectures can be found here.
