In future, there will also be a ‘Katjes Prize’, which will be awarded to the graduate from the Faculty of Society and Economics with the best final dissertation. The prize winners will be selected jointly by the university and Katjes. “The partnership between Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences and Katjes Fassin GmbH + Co. KG is a fantastic opportunity for students to work with such a well-known local company,” explains Dr Heide Naderer, President of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences. “We are delighted to have secured Katjes Fassin GmbH + Co. KG as a partner.”

Katjes is an internationally active company, ranks amongst the top three in the German confectionery market and has been recognised as one of the strongest brands in Germany. “Katjes has already offered students at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences work placements and opportunities to write their final-year dissertations in the past. This has also led to opportunities for students to enter the world of work directly. We now intend to expand this programme on an individual and needs-based basis,” adds Reinhard Sanders from Katjes’ management team.
