To mark the start of the winter semester 2024/25, Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences is once again offering members of the public the opportunity to attend regular lectures and courses. The guest student scheme enables anyone interested – even those without university entrance qualifications – to attend selected courses.
Visiting students in the faculties
The Faculty of Technology and Bionics at the Kleve Campus offers lectures delivered exclusively in English, covering not only traditional subjects such as physics, mathematics and chemistry, but also topics from the fields of science communication, electrical engineering, business administration and project management. Members of the public who are interested can contact the faculty this year. Due to the partial reorganisation of the range of courses on offer, the faculty is offering assistance in selecting suitable lectures rather than a public programme: marketing-tub@hochschule-rhein-waal.de
The Faculty of Life Sciences covers subjects including microbiology, environmental chemistry and nutritional sciences, as well as agricultural engineering, agroecology, agricultural economics and agricultural policy.
The third faculty at the Kleve campus, Society and Economics, focuses its lectures in particular on business-related aspects such as company law, social responsibility, and organisation and business development. In addition, lectures are also offered in domestic and international politics and in the field of sustainable tourism.
At the Faculty of Communication and Environment on the Kamp-Lintfort campus, the following lectures, amongst others, are available: ecology and environmental science, geology, biology, energy management and technology, history of design, communication security, business administration, media informatics and personality psychology.
Members of the public who are interested can register as guest students with the Student Services department at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. The guest student card costs €100.00 and is valid for attending open lectures during the winter semester from October 2024 to January 2025.
Visiting student status for sports courses
The university’s sports programme also opens its activities to guest students. The range of courses on offer includes Zumba, volleyball, yoga, fencing and badminton, amongst others. (Sports such as gliding, bouldering and tennis are excluded.) Those interested can choose between two options:
