Six teams of schoolgirls met today for one of a total of 15 regional rounds of this year’s zdi robotics competition. The second round of the ‘Robot Performance’ category for girls took place in Kamp-Lintfort. The set theme was ‘Sustainable Food Production’, for which the 10- to 16-year-olds came up with all sorts of creative ideas. For their performance, they designed their own small stage and programmed a dance routine set to music for the LEGO robots. In addition, the teams gave short presentations on how the performance came about. The concept behind the story, the choreography and the design all played an important role in the judging.
The first- and second-placed teams from Moers and Wesel qualified for the final on 20 June in Mülheim an der Ruhr and Wuppertal.
