iNavigate Consortium project meeting

A delegation from the iNavigate project recently visited the Turkish NeurotechEU partner and project leader, Bogazici University in Istanbul.

The iNavigate project is a consortium comprising various higher education institutions; in addition to HSRW (represented by Prof. Dr William Megill), a total of 23 higher education institutions, universities, research organisations and industry partners are involved, with Bogazici University responsible for central coordination. In Istanbul, alongside HSRW, Aberystwyth University from the United Kingdom, the University of Craiova in Romania and Radboud University in the Netherlands were represented.

One of the iNavigate consortium’s objectives is to develop a mechanistic (and implementable) definition of how the brain generates actions using a series of elementary instructions, and to translate this knowledge into innovative technological solutions for controlling robotic mobility. It brings together behavioural scientists, neuroscientists, computer scientists, robotics engineers and artificial intelligence experts with world-leading companies to work collaboratively on automation and intelligent navigation.

During the meeting, the partners discussed future plans, such as targeted further training for staff in the field of neurotechnology with a focus on neuromorphic control and robotics, as well as the organisation of joint workshops and a summer school.
