Thirty new exchange students from twelve countries

Whether from Spain or Finland, Brazil or South Korea – some of the new exchange students who arrived at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences this week have travelled long distances to spend a semester abroad in Kleve or Kamp-Lintfort.

They have now been officially welcomed by the International Office at their new host university – where they will be studying and living for the next few months – and introduced to everyday student life. 

“We are delighted that the students have chosen to spend a semester abroad at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences,” said Dr Joost Kleuters, Head of the International Office. Year on year, more young people from partner universities abroad are coming to the Lower Rhine region, as the number of international partnerships has risen steadily over recent semesters. “This is also very important for our own students, who, in turn, have an ever-increasing range of options when planning their semester abroad,” explains Joost Kleuters.

Once all the formalities had been completed during enrolment and key organisational matters had been clarified, there was plenty of time the following day – over a group breakfast followed by a campus tour – to get to know one another and their ‘new’ university. The adventure of a semester abroad can begin!
