On 25 January 2024, the members of the executive boards responsible for internationalisation at all partner universities of The Hague Network met to sign a new cooperation agreement. Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences was represented by Vice-President Prof. Dr Tatiana Zimenkova.
The consortium comprises a group of European higher education institutions that have decided to build a broader, deeper and more comprehensive network across their organisations and to form strategic partnerships. The network is coordinated by The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Other partners include the University of Derby in the UK, Masaryk University in the Czech Republic, the University of Cagliari in Italy, Tampere University of Applied Sciences in Finland and the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Spain.
Student and staff exchanges take place within the framework of the network. In future, staff will also receive increased support through grants from the EU’s ERASMUS programme. The VERSATILE Virtual Exchange project, which was spearheaded by the Faculty of Society and Economics under Prof. Dr Philipp Schorn and the Centre for Internationalisation and Languages in collaboration with partners from the network, will continue even after the ERASMUS funding has come to an end. The Faculty is now working within the network on a new ERASMUS project proposal, ‘Green Competencies’, in the field of teaching.
The participants agreed that the consortium is the right initiative for everyone when it comes to developing and implementing new, innovative internationalisation formats quickly and easily with European partners.
