This year, our faculty was represented at the world’s largest international education fair, the NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo. It took place in San Diego, California, and once again provided an excellent platform for exchange with international partner institutions. Philipp Schorn and Fabian Dargel attended the event on behalf of the faculty and returned with valuable insights, new contacts and exciting prospects.

Philipp Schorn and Fabian Dargel attended the event on behalf of the faculty and returned with valuable insights, new contacts and exciting prospects.
As usual, the conference focused on the themes of internationalisation, academic exchange and strategic university partnerships. Through numerous discussions with existing cooperation partners as well as potential new higher education institutions from around the world, Philipp Schorn and Fabian Dargel were able not only to strengthen existing relationships but also to develop new ideas for future exchange programmes, joint projects and dual degree schemes.
Every year, NAFSA offers a unique opportunity to network in person with colleagues from all over the world and to reflect together on the future of international higher education. The openness and willingness to cooperate shown by many of the people we spoke to – whether from North America, Europe or Asia – was particularly appreciated.
Participation in NAFSA 2025 was therefore not only an investment in existing and future collaborations, but also a clear commitment to the further internationalisation of our faculty.
