Cancellation of all events until 17 July 2020

The university has cancelled all its activities that are not absolutely essential for day-to-day teaching until 17 July 2020.

In the current circumstances, the university wishes to make the start of the semester easier for its students and ensure that the semester runs as smoothly as possible. It will therefore do everything in its power, once teaching resumes, to ensure that this can proceed as normal until 17 July 2020.

Among other things, this means that the university will scale back activities that are not absolutely essential for day-to-day teaching. Consequently, until 17 July 2020, no events will take place at or in association with the university that do not primarily serve teaching purposes.

“We deeply regret having to impose this restriction and did not take this decision lightly. As an open university, the exchange and transfer of knowledge that these events provide are very important to us. However, in fulfilment of our educational mandate, we have a particular obligation to our students. We want them to face as few disadvantages as possible in light of the current situation,” said President Dr Oliver Locker-Grütjen.
