As part of Earth Hour, Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences will switch off its lights for one hour on 25 March 2017.

Turn off the lights to protect the Earth
On 25 March 2017, from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm, millions of households, numerous buildings, public spaces and landmarks around the world will switch off their lights to send a powerful collective message in support of protecting our planet. Earth Hour, now in its 11th year, was launched by one of the world’s largest international nature and environmental organisations, the WWF.
Global warming and climate change are already having a huge impact on many animal species and regions. Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences will also be actively sending a message by taking part. Alongside Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, other venues switching off their lights include Schwanenburg Castle in Kleve, the Pallas Athene statue on the roof of the ‘Belvedere’ studio tower, Kleve Collegiate Church and Volksbank Kleverland.
