This year’s Studium Generale is dedicated to the multifaceted theme of ‘Energy’. In their talk entitled ‘Fire – Unleashed Energy’, the speakers Jürgen Buil, Head of Training and Further Education at the Kleve Volunteer Fire Brigade, Prof. Dr Joachim van Alst, Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Life Sciences at Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences and Head of Anaesthesia at St Willibrord Hospital in Emmerich-Rees, and Heinz Lippe, Fire Safety and First Aid Officer at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, will continue the series of events on 28 November 2017 at 7.00 pm.

Using the devastating fire at London’s Grenfell Tower as an example, the speakers will clearly explain the energy released by a fire, the consequences this has for the building, and the toxicological and thermal effects on people.
