Important information regarding finding an internship
You are responsible for finding a suitable hosting organisation yourself. The Centre for Internationalisation and Languages does not arrange hosting organisations, but it will support you by providing information on funding opportunities and organisational requirements.
Recognition and integration into the degree programme
To ensure that your internship semester abroad is recognised as part of your degree, you will need to make arrangements well in advance.
As a rule:
- Content and duration of the internship
- Learning objectives and tasks
- formal requirements
determined in advance and agreed with the relevant department. Academic supervision is provided by a professor from your Degree programme (supervisor).
Planning and preparation
A work placement semester abroad requires careful and independent planning.
This includes, amongst other things:
- searching for an internship placement yourself
- coordination with your degree programme
- organising your stay abroad
- Clarifying insurance and contractual matters
- Checking funding opportunities

Once you have made the decision in principle to undertake a practical semester abroad, we will provide further information. This information will be made available to students on a case-by-case basis as the process progresses and is not part of the public website.
