Campus tours at the various sites
On a campus tour, you will get a glimpse of our modern buildings, find out more about the degree programmes and have the chance to ask your questions on the spot.
What to expect
During the campus tour, you will get to know the campus in Kleve or Kamp-Lintfort. Among other things, we will show you the lecture theatres, library, canteen and other central facilities. You will also find out useful information about studying, the application process and campus life.

Good to know

Virtual Open Day – Online Event
Find out all about degree programmes, the application process and studying at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences from the comfort of your own home.
What to expect
At the Virtual Open Day, you can look forward to a presentation providing general information about studying, the application and admission process, and the individual Degree programmes at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. Students will share an insight into everyday student life, and you will of course have the chance to ask questions directly.
Who is it for?
All prospective students (including international students) – regardless of where you live.
Good to know
The Virtual Open Day is always held in English, as it is aimed specifically at prospective international students.

Long Night of Study Advice
With the application deadline fast approaching, this event is specifically aimed towards German applicants who would like to clarify questions on short notice.
What to expect
Whether it is choosing a degree programme, applying or admission – our study advisers will take the time to answer your questions and help you with the final steps on your way to starting your degree.

- People who wish to find out about degree programmes outside regular opening hours

What is it like to attend a lecture? What sort of content can you expect during your degree? With our taster sessions, you can experience everyday university life first-hand and find out whether a degree course is right for you.
Study for a Day – Student4ADay
What is it really like to be a student? With Student4ADay, you’ll spend a day shadowing a student and experience student life first-hand.
Here is what to expect
You will attend lectures together, get to know the campus and have the chance to ask any questions you might have about university life. This will give you an authentic insight into your chosen degree programme and campus life.
Who is it for?
Prospective students who have already identified one or more degree programmes they are interested in.
Good to know
Participation is by individual appointment during the lecture period (roughly April to June in the Summer semester and October to December in the Winter semester).
Get a Taste of Studying
Would you like to find out what it’s like to attend a lecture? With the Get A Taste programme, you can attend various courses for two weeks and get a taste of university life.
What to expect
Attend regular lectures and get a realistic impression of the course content, teaching methods and atmosphere. This will help you better assess whether university life in general and/or a specific degree programme is right for you.
Who’s it for?
- School pupils, take note: you may be granted permission to attend lectures. Please check with your school.

Programme for first-year students
Would you like to start studying whilst you are still at school? Through the Young Students’ Programme, you can attend selected courses and gain your first taste of university life.
What to expect
You will take part in regular courses and get to know academic work and everyday life at university. Courses attended whilst still at school can be credited towards your degree if you subsequently enrol at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.
Who is it for?
High-achieving and particularly keen upper-sixth-form pupils (located in Germany).
Good to know
As part of the Young Students’ Programme, you will have enrolment as a student at the university and should attend courses regularly. Participation in the Young Students’ Programme is therefore only possible following a preliminary consultation, usually in conjunction with a teacher. The consultation is carried out by our KAoA team; you can find further information and contact details on the website.

Interactive study guidance – workshops
Which degree programme is right for you? Our workshops will help you gain a better understanding of your interests, skills and future aspirations.
What to expect
Depending on the workshop, you’ll explore topics such as your strengths, your choice of degree programme or various decision-making strategies. The sessions alternate between short presentations, practical exercises and group work.

Good to know
Our workshops are designed for motivated and interested participants. In our experience, they work best with groups who are taking part voluntarily and want to get actively involved. Workshops are therefore less suitable as compulsory activities for whole school year groups. Many workshops can also be held directly at schools. You can find detailed information on this website.
Study Orientation Weeks
During the nationwide university guidance weeks, we offer a wide range of events to help you choose your course.
Here’s what you can expect
Look forward to workshops, talks, campus activities and advisory sessions covering everything to do with choosing a degree programme and starting your studies. You can attend individual events or combine several activities.

Advice service: A-levels – what next?
Are you about to take your high school exams, or have you already passed them? The ‘Abi – und jetzt?’ advice service is aimed specifically at German high school students who still need support with the next steps after their graduation.
What to expect
During the open consultation hours, you can receive personalised advice from the student advisers at the Study Advisory Service and clarify any questions you may have.

Sixth-form students and others interested in studying at university.

Not every request fits a set event format. That is why we work with schools and groups to develop bespoke university guidance programmes.
What you can expect
Whether it is an information session, a workshop, a campus tour or a combination of different formats, we tailor the content to your requirements and the participants’ level of knowledge.
