The Welcome Centre is once again offering the ‘Locals4Students’ mentoring programme during the 2019/2020 winter term. In the past, many local residents have already played an active role in helping students settle into their studies.
The programme aims to bring interested members of the public together with students. Most international students are keen to make contacts outside the university in order to integrate even better. In this way, members of the public can gain an insight into the cultural diversity of the student body.
We are looking for ‘locals’ who would like to help students feel at home in their new surroundings. It is entirely up to the ‘locals’ to decide what they can and wish to contribute in their role as mentors. The aim of the programme is to foster friendly exchanges and mutual enrichment. Both the students and the university are grateful for any form of support.
To get to know one another and exchange ideas, anyone interested is warmly invited to the canteen (Building 04) on the Kamp-Lintfort campus of Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, Friedrich-Heinrich-Allee 25, on 16 December 2019 from 6.00 pm.
